Brief Overview
The department is led by the Head of Department and assistant teachers of Physical Education.
Outdoor areas include a large field, two soccer pitches, one rugby pitch and an athletics track during the summer months and two hardcourt areas. Indoor areas are a large sports hall, gymnasium and a multi-gym.
The extra-curricular programme is a vital part of the work of the department. A wide range of clubs, teams and activities are offered.
The Physical Education department is well established, well organised and plays an integral part in the whole of college life.
Details of Courses/Qualifications
Students are timetabled for 4 lessons of PE per week. GCSE and BTEC (Edexcel) are offered as part of the options programme. General PE at KS3 and KS4 offers students a broad and varied curriculum. Presently the majority of teaching groups are single sex and setting proves effective.
