06/02/2010 - Building Their Future

On 9 February, more than 150 Year 5 pupils from local primaries will visit Kingswood to learn more about the Building Schools for the Future programme and give their opinions on the design of our new school building. The pupils will take part in Who Wants to be  Millionnaire style voting so we can collect their views, after which they will work in groups on specific themes - such as the use of outdoor space, the design of toilets and the use of new technologies. All of the pupils who attend will be issued with their very own Passport to Kingswood, which will be stamped each time  they visit us again, and they will have the chance to try on the college uniform and make short video diaries about their thoughts. 

The event is being supported by Esteem (who will design and build the new school) and the Council's BSF Team.

For anyone who doesn't know, Kingswood is to be entirely rebuilt on the existing site. The new building will open in 2012, when the existing buidling will be demolished.
