We Inspire Success

Leanne Beetham

Leanne started at the then Kingswood High School in 1999. During her time at the school, she was an inspiration to others, proving that a disability doesn’t mean you cannot achieve your own targets. She worked hard all the time and fitted in a daily physical management programme. Her ability at art was soon spotted and this talent was developed fully during her time here. Leanne says she enjoyed school very much and she describes her Learning Support Assistant, Rosie Eldon, as “1st Class”.

Leanne left Kingswood with an A* in Art and Design, C in Graphics and C in Math’s, English and Science and she is now studying for a degree in Applied Animal Behavior/Animal Management, at Bishop Burton College.

Leanne’s ambitions include becoming a professional artist, photographer and animal trainer. Her hobbies include painting, photography, tattoo design and animal training

One of Leanne’s paintings was bought for £750 for the David Sheppard Fund.

Danny Hunter

Danny attended Kingswood from 2002 – 2007; he was a popular student and made the effort to get involved. Whilst he says enjoyed school, he wasn’t keen on getting up early!

Not surprisingly, Danny achieved an A grade in PE, his favorite subject - but he also took away qualifications in other subjects, including English and History.

Danny has always wanted to be a professional rugby player and whenever people talked to him about other careers and options, he was determined to make RUGBY LEAGUE his job. Danny is now living his dream and is currently training with Hull Kingston rovers 1st team. He is loving every minute of it, but he also says he is growing up and realising that rugby won’t last forever. Since leaving school, Danny has studied B-Tech National in Sport and A-level Sports Science at Wilberforce College; he is also back at Kingswood, where he has enrolled on a Teaching Assistant course and is supporting as a volunteer.
